Make a difference by giving the gift of time
by volunteering at Charlie House
Our award winning volunteers are a vital part of our charity. Every hour contributed by our volunteers makes a difference to the children and families we support.
We have a variety of personal and corporate volunteering opportunities available for you to consider, whether you can gift an occasional hour, a whole day or make a regular commitment by volunteering every week, we would love to welcome you to the team.
We are asking for your support this festive season. Once again, we are on the lookout for some cheerful elves for Santa's Workshop! This fun-filled volunteering opportunity is perfect for those happy-go-lucky individuals who want to spread Christmas cheer. There will always be a chief elf on hand to keep any mischievous elves in order...
Elves will meet and greet visitors, check bookings, organise gifts, introduce children to Santa, prepare and take photographs, sell Charlie House merchandise and photo packages, as well as keep the workshop in tip top condition. Various dates will be available, starting 9th November - 24th December. Full training will be provided at our one and only elf school!
This family fun fitness event is great way to start your volunteering journey! We're looking for festive volunteers to become part of our Santa Squad at the annual Santa Run. You can help check in participants, hand out Santa outfits, be part of the cheer squad, and more! Whether it's yourself, with family, or teaming up with a bunch of your friends, we want to hear from you.
Volunteering will take place around the city centre between 3PM - 6PM with the Santa Squad being placed around Union Street, Carden Place, or Fountainhall Church, formerly known as Queens Cross Church. Positions are based on your interests and skills and volunteers must be aged 16 and above
Help us gear up for the Rotary Raffle Draw! We're looking for volunteers to be stationed in the Bon Accord Centre to help us sell tickets for the Annual Rotary Car Raffle. Rotary Clubs across Aberdeen and North East Scotland have been selling raffle tickets to win a car for more than 20 years and extremely lucky to be the main benefitting charity of this raffle for 2024 and the past three years. Training will be provided.
Get involved in the set up of The Big Build Ball! We need your help to make our event the best it can be. From table set up to decoration, we'd love for you to be involved in our biggest event of the year.
Be part of delivering festive cheer as part of the Charlie House Christmas calendar at Curated in the Quad, part of Aberdeen’s iconic Christmas Village at Marischal College! Starting on November 15th, the market will run every Friday to Sunday for six magical weekends.
You’ll also be part of the holiday buzz at Curated Local Makers Market in the Bon Accord Centre, which features the best local makers Aberdeen has to offer.
Volunteering shifts will run between 11am-7pm over the six-week period. If you’re passionate about Christmas, love connecting with people, and want to support local businesses and Charlie House, we’d love for you to join our festive team.
