Our award winning volunteers are a vital part of our charity. Every hour contributed by our volunteers makes a difference to the children and families we support.

We have a variety of volunteering opportunities available for you to consider, whether you can gift an occasional hour, a whole day or make a regular commitment by volunteering every week, we would love to welcome you to the team.

Fundraising event volunteers

From community events such as the Big Bounce to our annual events such as Fizz & Fashion and the Big Charlie House Ball, volunteering is an exciting way to get involved in making an impact to Charlie House and their fundraising mission with events that draw hundreds if not thousands of attendees.

Fundraising challenge volunteers

Perhaps you want to help marshal a fun-filled sporting activity like the Kiltwalk, cheering on participants at Santa Run, handing out medals, or utilising your specialist skills - we have plenty of opportunities for you to get involved in!

Retail hosts

Support Charlie House by volunteering in our retail and social enterprise spaces at Aberdeen’s Bon Accord Centre, including the ReCHarge Café and Curated Local Makers Market. Join our friendly team and help create a great experience for every guest.

Become the face of fun as our very own Charlie Dog! This energetic and family-friendly role is perfect for volunteers who love engaging with families and spreading joy at our events.

“I Wish I’d Found Charlie House Years Ago” – Angela On Volunteers’ Week

Angela first got in touch with Charlie House last year, just as we were preparing for the festive season. From the moment we met, we knew we’d found someone special. She quickly became a familiar face across our Christmas calendar, and we’ve been lucky to have her by our side ever since.

As part of our week-long celebration of Volunteers’ Week (2 to 8 June), we caught up with a familiar face and longstanding member of our volunteer community, Dylan Henderson, to hear about his volunteering journey, the confidence it has given him over the years, and what being part of the group he proudly calls “the Charlie House family” means to him.
