A key way to promote your fundraiser and increase donations is by shouting loud and proud on social media. Download these to use in your posts.
We're grateful to have strong relationships with many event organisers, which means we can provide free charity spaces for lots of prestigious events - such as London Marathon, Edinburgh Marathon, Ride the North and Run Balmoral - in return for participants raising a minimum sponsorship.
To register for a charity space with Charlie House, or express your interest in an event, register via one of our events above or email fundraise@charliehouse.org.uk for more info.
There are loads of ways to collect donations when fundraising, but we recommend Just Giving. This platform allows you to easily take donations online, automatically collect Gift Aid, and it's easy to report progress and share your page with your friends, family and colleagues.
It only takes a few minutes to set up. All you need to know is what you'll be doing as your fundraiser and when you will be doing it! You can find a simple 8-step guide to creating your page here.
Fundraising as a team? You've two options - you can create one page which everyone promotes, or you can set up a Just Giving Team. This gives every team member the chance to create their own page but all work together to achieving a team total. You can find a simple guide to creating your page here.
Deciding on a fundraiser can be tricky, which is why we've developed our handy A-Z Fundraising Ideas guide to give you some inspiration. Take a look here!
Unfortunately, we don't have the capacity to promote every fundraiser in dedicated social media posts on our channels. However, we are happy to share any fundraisers that we are tagged in to Instagram & Facebook stories.
Think outside the box! You don't have to ask for donations outright. Why not consider hosting a bake sale or a curry night? You could organise a non-uniform day or set up an office swear jar. There are so many fun ways for your donors to get involved to help you raise even more money for Charlie House. Have a look at our A-Z of fundraising ideas for some inspiration!
Yes, you can! Every fundraiser supporting Charlie House receives a free Charlie House t-shirt.
Of course! If you want to collect cash, we encourage you to download and print off our Sponsorship form. It’s then just about keeping a note of your donations, and then getting in touch with our team here at Charlie House to bank everything once you’re done!
If you have cash, you can simply drop off cash donations to our office, or post it directly to us at:
Balmoral House, 74 Carden Place, Aberdeen, AB10 1UL
If you have donations in your bank account, you can send this directly to Charlie House via BACS. Details below:
Account Name: Charlie House
Account Number: 11546567
Sort Code: 80-45-06
Description/Notes: Include a little bit about your donation i.e. Beast Race Fundraising
Or you can pay over the phone on 01224 313 333.
Firstly, don't panic! Times are tough so not everyone has the funds available to make a donation. You'll also find that many won't donate until you've actually completed your challenge! Tell your story to get people invested! Post on social media, share in group chats, send an email to colleagues. Just Giving allows you to add videos, text and post regular updates to your page to keep people engaged.
Gift Aid is an amazing way to make sure your amazing fundraising goes that little bit further - 25% further to be precise. Gift Aid is a ta relief allowing UK charities to reclaim and extra 25% in tax on every eligible donation made by a UK taxpayer. If you're fundraising via Just Giving, this will be collected automatically. If you're collecting by cash, we will just need your donor's full name, address and permission to claim an extra 25p on every £1 they donate at no extra cost to them.
