Exploring magical underwater lands, dancing with monkeys, or gazing at mesmerising stars—these are just a few of the incredible adventures children can experience through sensory play.

Charlie House is able to offer activities that not only engage children's senses but also create cherished family memories, all made possible with the support from people like you.

Some families recently shared their wonderful sensory experiences with us. Among them is mum Emma, who used our themed inflatable tent at home to create a magical evening for her two loving children, Grace and Gibson.

Bringing movie night to life

"We absolutely loved the blow-up sensory tent! We chose the jungle theme and set it up on our bed to cuddle up and watch The Jungle Book. There was enough space for me to hold Grace and Gibson, and the remote-controlled lights worked amazingly—I could even change the tent colours to mimic the film.

My children were in awe. Knowing I can arrange a time with Charlie House to borrow the sensory tent is incredible, especially as the colder weather approaches. Grace loved the lights and music, and there’s plenty of space for her brother and me to join in on the fun comfortably. We can’t wait to borrow it again—thank you so much!"

What are the benefits of sensory play?

Emma’s story is just one example of the joy and comfort our sensory equipment can bring. Sensory activities can offer many additional benefits for children’s development, including:

  • Providing a soothing and calming effect

  • Developing language and social skills

  • Helping children understand how their actions impact their surroundings

  • Supporting brain development and problem-solving skills

  • Encouraging creative and independent thinking

  • Aiding in the development of motor skills

Another mum shared how much her daughter loves using our interactive floor projector:

“Our daughter, who is 5, loves the floor projector and always engages with it. She mostly rolls around independently, and it’s the perfect activity for her. Her 3-year-old sister also joins in, with her favourite game being the target practice. You’ll often find her jumping around, trying to squash all the tomatoes in the splat game!”

Bringing Families Together

At Charlie House, our specialist sensory equipment helps to create tailored experiences for each child’s unique needs. From our sensory tent that engages sight, sound, and touch, to our portable hurricane station and magic surface projector, we can offer immersive sensory experiences that families can enjoy together.

Another mum told us, “My daughter loves it when we come to Charlie House to play with the projector. She uses up the full session playing! It distracts her, helps her relax, and has even been useful in helping her make friends with the support staff at Charlie House.”

Thanks to your support, we’re able to provide these vital sensory play sessions to families like Emma’s, helping them create precious moments of fun and relaxation.
