A leading provider of innovative asset cleaning and decontamination solutions smashed its target to raise £10,000 for charity during 2019 - and has pledged to continue efforts into 2020.
Throughout 2019, Inverurie-based Denholm MacNamee has thrown its support behind the Charlie House Big Build Appeal to build a state-of-the-art specialist support centre that will provide a wide range of services to babies, children and young people with complex disabilities and life-limiting conditions, and their families, in the North-east of Scotland.
The original plan was to raise £10,000 for the project thanks to bake sales and a lucky squares competition to win a designer handbag which boosted the total, along with a sky dive by members of the Denholm MacNamee team, a quiz night and a team taking part in The Glack Attack obstacle mud run.
However, the final count has seen the total reach an amazing £13,000 and the company now plans to continue fundraising during 2020 across its Inverurie and Invergordon sites with a view to reaching £20,000 by the end of next year.
As well as boosting the coffers of Charlie House, the Denholm MacNamee team also helped to raise money for their parent organisation’s concurrent fundraising campaign on behalf of Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children.
Denholm MacNamee Office Manager Julie McAdams said: “We are delighted to have raised such a great amount of money for Charlie House this year and, exceeding our original target has inspired us to continue our efforts to try and hit that £20,000 milestone. We are really looking forward to the team in Inverurie and Invergordon getting behind the campaign and I’m sure there will be lots of fun along the way!”
