Posted on November 30, 2018
Local children’s charity Charlie House has boosted its board with the further appointment of two key figures.
Shona MacAskill and Dr Kerry Jack join the board with imminent effect.
Charlie House, whose headquarters are in Albyn Place, supports babies, children and young people with complex disabilities and life-limiting conditions, and their families, in the North-east of Scotland.
Shona MacAskill, a chartered financial planner with Gary Walker & Co.Ltd - a senior partner practice of St. James's Place Wealth Management, and Dr Kerry Jack, a GP at Woodside Medical Practice, join the current board of six.
Tracy Johnstone, Chair of Charlie House says, “We welcome both Shona and Kerry to the board. They come with very different but hugely advantageous skill sets to support the charity during an exciting period. We value all of our board members voluntary time and commitment and look forward to working with them both.
Tracy continues, “2018 has been a milestone year for Charlie House with the growth of our service offering, the plans being submitted for our specialist support centre at Woodend Hospital and the launch of our Big Build Appeal to fund the project. Our valued Board continue to gift time, energy and enthusiasm and for that we are most grateful.”
Commenting on her appointment Shona says, “I have been aware of Charlie House for some years and knew about their long-term vision for a specialist support centre in the city. I genuinely wanted to get more involved and support this amazing project and charity.”
Dr Kerry Jack added, “As a GP, I see first-hand the requirement for a local specialist support centre for families. The charity’s long-term vision for this to be built here in Aberdeen is vital and I look forward to supporting the team on their journey to making this a reality.”← back
